For this pair of roomy workers trousers inspired by Erminigildo Zegna SS2023 collection, I used Rundschau pattern construction method. Based on the measurements of pants my son likes, I was able to modify the pattern to create more voluminous trousers. I added purely ornamental seams in the front and oversized rectangular patch pockets in the back.

The grey stretch twill fabric for this project came from fabricville.com. I also used black pocketing from cleanersupply.ca. I used 3 sewing machines to put the trousers together: an overlock to finish seam edges, a straight stitch to put the trousers together and a zigzag domestic machine for topstitching and zigzag stitches. What do you think of the topstitching colour my son chose?

I feel like these workers trousers became an organic addition to my sons wardrobe.
